Harry Kane finds his playground

Kane finds his feet in the Bundesliga.

The last transfer window in the English Premier League was dominated not by who was being brought in but by one man who wanted to leave. Harry Kane's future dominated the headlines, talk shows, and those fervent discussions in pubs across England.

Kane is a legend in White Hart Lane. A homeboy whom everyone loved and whose work rate despite underwhelming club results was simply outstanding. A lone wolf who carried the hopes of fans year after year. While all others around him would lose their focus, Kane was always on the button. It was, for the diehard fans, almost inconceivable that he would leave the club.

There was but, an inevitability to it when Bayern announced Kane's signing. A genius of his caliber needed space devoid of unreal expectations to flower, soar, and find new heights. A player who wore the Tottenham colours with undying faith had to get a new meaning to his aspirations. Bayern looked like the perfect move. A move to Manchester United was talked about, but then Kane decided to move to Bayern in the end. At United he would have been, yet again attempting to find success at a club that was in tatters. He would have to do it all again, just that they would be in a different jersey.

It is indeed a pleasure to see Kane at his best in Germany. Bayern's style of play, the quality of its team, and the bench mean that Kane is left to the predator in the box role. A role he is built for and is a master at. It was indeed a sad sight to watch him, over the past few years, wandering in the Tottenham midfield, trying to get possession and mount an attack. It was more of a lonely battle amid lifeless souls. The woeful Spurs midfield would have frustrated any striker but to his credit Kane, with his hunger for the game, continued to push but the joy was gone. An onlooker could see it and Kane would have felt it.

Harry Kane Bayers Best signing
Is Harry Kane finally on his way to glory

In the rugged Bundesliga, free of the expectations of shouldering the hopes of the whole team alone, Harry Kane has found a new leash of life. Ominously stalking the upper half of the pitch he has been constantly supplied by juicy crosses, crisp through balls, and mouthwatering cutbacks from the wings. Statistics seldom lie, and Kane's record speaks for itself. A sterling 15 goals in 10 matches, a world away from the already stunning 30 he scored in 38 matches for Tottenham last year.

The pace he has set is scorching and records will tumble as the season ages. With Leroy Sane, Alphonso Davies, and Kingsley Coman for company in the front line and a midfield stuffed with stalwarts like Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, and Jamal Musiala, Kane will almost certainly end up tearing a few record books apart. The run has just begun and it will be some run if things stay the way they are now.

Kane will surely have a few pieces of silverware at the end of the season, a void he needed to fill after the drought at Tottenham. A Bundesliga trophy would be wonderful to have and a Champions League trophy would be the icing on the cake.

If there is anyone, who deserves all he can get, it is Harry Kane. There would be no one grudging him the success he will get at Bayern and at the end of it all, he might just be Bayern's best transfer move ever.

Tottenham and its fans should be happy that their own Harry will get what he always deserved. A bird has to leave its roost to soar high and achieve greatness.

Kane has left his roost and is soaring for sure.
